Our in development title is a stylish blend of 2D and 3D art, where sci-fi and fantasy clash with a big load of punk aesthetics. Art that is evocative of lore and history, but then clashes styles with punk music and fashion, neon, loud and hot. We are looking for an exceptional illustration talent that helps us bring this world to life, with opulent and expressive character illustrations, inventive splash art and a knack for combining elegant inks, colors, collage and typography into imaginative and eye catching pieces of UI art.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Create large detailed character illustrations, with expressive faces, a solid hand for anatomy, a sense for clothing and flair
  • Create small and big detailed UI illustrations with eye catching compositions and graphic design elements, somewhere between tarot cards and punk band flyers.
  • Help out producing 2D game assets, as well as hand draw textures for certain 3D assets and VFX
    ability to draw 2D frame by frame animation is a BIG plus
  • Create spectacular splash art illustrations, cutscene art and marketing illustrations

Requirements:

Our ideal 2D artist is able to draw character with stylized but convincing anatomy, strong faces and great fashion sense. They can lean heavily into characterisations and catch great poses and expression and are able to add spice to a character illustration.

They have a knack for mixed media illustration techniques, such as collage, overpaint, graffiti, tones, typography and ornamentals. They can provide striking compositions and have a good sense for symbolism, color choices and visual storytelling.

They are playful and creative in their approach to game graphics, and strive for crisp and innovative visuals. They appreciate and demonstrate open, empathetic and professional communication and demonstrate a deep fascination for visual design and creative problem-solving.

They are also super comfortable expressing themselves in inks and coloring, drawing from comic books, manga, anime and animation. This is not a digital painter position.

To succeed in this role, it is also essential that you have the following:

  • at least 1 year of industry experience in game development or animation
  • Proficient in Photoshop
  • inking and coloring skills
  • Proficiencies in Unity, Blender and Clip Studio Paint are a plus. Basic skills in these applications will be required.
  • Solid 2D Animation skills for UI and VFX are a plus.
  • Strong ideation, brainstorming and documentation skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills, close communication with Production and Direction
  • required residency in Germany

Bonus points:

  • experience and skills in 3D modelling and animation
  • experience in storyboarding
  • logo and UI design skills
  • experience with scrum
