Trotzkind is a Berlin based content and technology studio for immersive media. In 2017, we developed HUXLEY, a location based multi-user VR game and one of the first VR Escape Rooms worldwide. In addition to many other nominations, HUXLEY won the German Computer Game Award 2018 for Best Innovation.

For our upcoming single-player VR game, we are looking for a Game Artist Generalist (m/f/d). The game will be a narrative single-player VR adventure which lets players travel the mind of an imaginative little girl. This position carries significant responsibility and presents a valuable opportunity to be part of a strong team. Your artistic, technical, and managerial expertise will play a crucial role in driving this growth and achieving success.

Your responsibilities:

  • Co-guide the creative team in the creation of high-quality environments and assets specifically tailored for optimal performance in mobile virtual reality (VR).
  • Define and implement art standards and systems to ensure consistency across all creative materials.
  • Deliver regular reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team, ensuring clarity and transparency in the process.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative director to align the creative vision, ensuring that schedules and plans are in line with both the business objectives and project requirements.
  • Take an active role in continuously improving work methods and pipelines, contributing to the ongoing enhancement and optimization of processes.
  • Share your expertise and recommend best practices within your area of expertise, actively disseminating knowledge to promote the adoption of effective practices throughout the team.

Your Profile:

  • In-depth experiences as a Game Artist
  • Strong artistic skills (analog and digital)
  • Experience in team work and management tools
  • Wide range of experience in all areas of game art development, including concept art, game ready Assets modeling and texturing, Characters, UI, Animation, VFX and Shader creation optimized for low end devices.
  • Extensive experience using 3D modeling software (Blender, 3DS Max, Maya, Zbrush or other recognized tools).
    Very good knowledge in Game Engines (Unity

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with character creation and motion capturing using the Reallusion´s package along with a Xsense suit
    Experience in working with VR
  • Good knowledge of Version Control software
  • Interest in psychological topics
